the problem of equivalent exchange is who sets the exchange rate? Money is worth nothing unless someone is willing to exchange it with you for a negotiated rate. Earth exchange rates are set by a marketplace. If a country is doing economically poorly, then their currency value goes down because people don't want their currency.

So who is deciding how much the exchange rate is for the MC?

@kilisloe say you get yen from a bank lie what will the bank doo with copper coins and silver coins pretty sure 10k yen is worth more than a silver coin considering most silver coin being sold as souvenir are around 1-5 dollars gold coins being sold in Japan are around 500 yen the last time I visited the golden pagoda. same goes for when he gets the coins if he gets coins from the isekai bank and it gor replaced by Yen what will they do with paper but then again paper in their world probably cost several silver coin or a gold coin so the yen is actually worth more than the isekai currency.

I am mostly using the material's worth because Japanese bank or isekai bank can't use them as currency so ether melt the coin or use the yen as paper

Also, wont he break Japan's economy if he makes money from another world and converts it into yen and uses it? He's literally making money from nowhere from Earth's perspective. From my limited economy knowledge, hes gonna lower the value of yen if he actually uses that converted money.
