I don't know how to put this
I have read the manga version until New Jigoku Shoujo arc in Nakayoshi (my country has been licensed it around 2000's and ended in 2016)
The story pretty much the same, but I prefer the anime ver.
Especially its art, the anime is more better than the original.
No much difference, you can choose it.

WOW okay, coming from a person who has only seen the anime version in the past, I never knew the manga was drawn in a such a shoujo-romance manga style... this is almost jarring, especially since the eyes in this are HUGE, haha. The art style in the anime version definitely suits the story much better and compliments the dark/creepy atmosphere.
