@halloween20 I was imagining what happened with the cockatrice except much taller staircases being built, unbuilt, and rebuilt over and over. Also a pickaxe.
Although, in hindsight, the meteors might just fall straight down once he tries to mess with them.

And they can't hit/destroy the city if they've been turned into meteor gravel. Assuming it can be done without it dropping on the city in the process and the gravel being safely disposed of.
