Dude should have just selected a novel in English, but one that was translated into English from some small country. This would also conveniently guarantee the novel would likely be worth something, as otherwise it wouldn't have been translated. How likely would it be for Yuriko to have read such a work, unless it was a really popular title? Well, this is of course only assuming he's not such a shameful high schooler he can't read English. We know Yuriko can, however. Iris can as well, as much as she can read at all, half of her being from the UK.
