@projectrado probably, but I'm sure if they wanted to, there would be plenty of actual reasons to make something believable and realistic. I mean for example, faking that fmc having insulted royalty for example is easy to make up for a determined group, and that's a good enough excuse to be striped of rank. But "bullying a lower ranked noble" is ridiculous as a crime. It's like saying "Miss duchess, you were impolite to my maid, you shall be executed !"
@Doenyon Ik, it's pretty stupid. However, you still see it in these stories where there's a "villainess" and a "heroine" way too often, and that the heroine is low classed / commoner and the dumbass prince and the harem back the heroine for unknown reasons.
@ProjectRado they are just horny. No like really, their reason is just because they all want to shag the heroine, and it's usually quite clearly said (though maybe not so clearly to need to stop saying it's shoujo).
@Doenyon Well, depending on time and place, the prince could punish her for displeasing him. So it's not so much "you bullied someone of lower rank" as it is "you bullied someone I personally care about". Then again, it makes no sense that he would throw about his authority like that, challenging one of the most powerful families in the realm, and then immediately throw away that authority and become a commoner. One simping for the saint sure (since they can't really marry if she has to remain a maiden), which might protect him to some degree, but who has given up all his authority.
@kynnath Yeah, I just wonder since that start, is a regular trope in this genre, as if it's the most natural behavior. But I guess they gotta stay Shoujo-Friendly and can't quite get into dark sneakyness.
