And I just finished calling them slow learners in the previous chapter's comments. I guess the author felt like he hadn't made that point quite clear yet. An average Japanese reader must be different, but I'd rather read about at least semi-intelligent people trying to beat a crazy catastrophe than idiots surviving only thanks to generous writing. But then again, it's no different from the regular shounen, where a stupid MC gathers a harem with no effort.
