Vol 12 has a new illustrator, Teshima Nari, replacing the hentai mangaka Nishieda who previously illustrated the 1st 11 volumes. Author says the editorial board suggested the illustrator change due to "the change in the story's atmosphere". Seems like a promising start. I hope it doesn't devolve into mindless edge-shit or ecchi-shit like some other series.
To bad his subordinates killed those guards. If this is the type of series I hope it is, (i.e. one that actually puts thought into the story/characters instead of having all the non-main characters be mindless NPCs with no life outside of their roles) then I sense some impending conflict with the dead soldiers' families and friends.
