Jishou Akuyaku Reijou na Konyakusha no Kansatsu Kiroku - Vol. 4 Ch. 20

Why don't you guys and uxtef just tally and release the HD one only from now on? just asking, no offense meant....

Now that its reached a point where her spirit tried to kill the prince, I hope the severity of it means this story wont go the awful japanese trope route of the villians never getting punished and are usually weirdly forgiven

@IsaacBai The Light Spirit isn't trying to kill the Prince, as that would go against everything its master has been trying to do the whole time.
The Prince's spirit whose name escapes me right now has been staying close to him to protect the Prince from the Light Spirit's enslavement charm ability. The bird committed to a suicide attack to try and inflict its most powerful level of charm on the Prince to save its master (aka Clueless Egocentric Bitch), when the Prince's spirit was too far to react in time.

@IsaacBai From outside perspective she'll be weirdly forgiven for what she did, cause nobody knows about spirits and you can't punish someone for committing a crime with spirits without revealing their existence. BUT, the bird isn't actually trying to kill him. So, based on what SHE herself tried to do to him(without considering what the bird did through its own will), her punishment is actually kinda severe...?

But all those are nothing compared to the lifetime of guilt and loneliness that she'll have to bear. I actually felt really really sorry for her when I read the novel and actually kinda wished she had a second chance.

Well, the prince here probably felt the same way for her too that's why he also showed her an act of kindness at the end. It was not much, something that other people would consider a punishment. But to her it was the thing she needed the most. It was hope.

Wow... I can't believe I'll see the day when the HQ release catches up with the low resolution one.

Feel like I have been using a dusty glasses to read manga until the new HD version came out 🙄 Bless you TL-san

@HDMI1: Actually
I don't think neither the light spirit nor the heroine know about the 'charm' effect of the healing light.

The spirit will try to show Cecil the 'alternate realities' where he doesn't end up with the heroines, none of them with good results (even the warmonger one) to convince him that he NEED to pick the heroine to avoid becoming like that.

But pretty much all of them, Bertia included, misunderstood how it actually work.

What'll prevent Cecil from becoming an 'android prince' isn't a fated maiden, but ANYTHING that spark his interest.
When he finds one, he'll relentlessly keep to it because it's the only thing that makes him feel alive.
But when it's not a person, he follows that interest to the extreme until he goes too far which is what all those alternate routes show.

And yes, Bertia already did trigger his interest on their first meeting, so heroine had 0 chance of succeeding anyway because he already found his 'fated maiden'

As for the mark thing, it's a spirit thing, and Cecil will totally put it on Bertia just to convince her SHE is the one (Kuro will play along albeit not amused at having to trick her own master)

@Walter_vi_Britannia: iirc
He only let the heroine choose her own fate (to choose a place that's more likely to revive the light spirit, or the place that's got comfortable environment) to make her go obediently and because even after everything, Bertia wouldn't wish death upon the heroine.

Because that's the thing with Cecil's...disposition? that the idea of being hated/avoided by Bertia (as in, real hate and not an embarrassed sulking) is more terrifying than anything else.

I fear that bird.
I don't think I could handle the prince flip-flopping due to light spirit brainwashing, especially since Tia would probably just take that as her sign to up and vanish.

@WhimsiCat If I remember correctly...
He said at the end that that decision to give her a choice was also not completely him being cold and calculative. He wouldn't have done that previously, he would've taken care of her silently, but told Bertia another thing to keep her happy. But because of her he changed, so now he can feel kindness towards other people apart from Bertia. I think he mentioned that him giving her that decision was because he has turned more human from the android prince he was, it was his own desire.

If what you said there is true, then everything the story leads up to would end up becoming false. It was a story of him gaining humanity, unconditionally caring for other people (and no, simply caring for Bertia alone doesn't count as having succeeded...he must become completely human so he can learn to care for his friends and family too).

At the end he did things based more on his feelings rather than his calculations. That was the point, his decision to punish her this way was the first showcase of how he has changed.

I'm crying for pii(the bird), my guys. it was stated by cecil(prince) at earlier chapters that pii was aware of the wrong doings but chose to just obey(or somewhere along the line) since pii was just afraid that it will get abandoned by the heroine. What a fucking disaster, man.

#RIP_for_pii
Pii even went for the sewerside attack 😭😭😭

I'm confused in the decisions on Pii i get that Pii's a bird but there was a smarter way then fricking destroying themselves so that Blondie here loves her/him (-△- ) and here i thought birds were smarter then they seem

I know you might want to know what was the smarter way
since im lazy rn you do it yourself
