Jitsu wa Ore, Saikyou Deshita? - Vol. 3 Ch. 16 - I Absolutely Hate This

well... sfx in written/printed media are mostly(?) onomatopoeia... so it would end up like that from time to time... since it basically imitate the sound you think you heard.
some incoherent word... if you can even call that a word...
I use those kind of word from time to time even when no one really understand what it actually mean... since it sound right to me... (and me alone probably)

so it wouldn't be weird if the sfx the author uses is something no one ever heard of before... since it probably what feel right for them at that moment.

Imho don't redraw the sfx. Just put the translation near the original sfx or on the white part of the page (outside the panel).

For the record those onomatopoeia the translator complained about were the classic "Fufun" proud noise and "Gan~" disappointment noise. A small "tsu" at the end just means a stronger/longer vowel sound, iirc. And the "Fufun" was written with Katakana "フフン."

Not sure who to tag for this, I'm just trying to help with my limited knowledge.

Don’t think there’s a need to censor out the swearing. Now, say it with me together with pride, loudly

FUCKING

ガンッ isn't gantsu it's gan- which is kinda like an impact sound I think, like when you drop a washtub on somebody's head

What @BrandedAX says is correct. "Fufun" and "gan" would be the correct transliterations. The terminal "ッ" in "ガンッ" is a sokuon (促音), it's not meant to be read as a "tsu".

"Gan" I think is related to gan gan or basically putting effort in; just one is related to her action of flexing that bicep and portraying strength, just my 2c, could be wrong though
