@mommy You can change the form and the color of the barrier. So how I look at it, is as if you are making the barrier so that it covers only your body (like tight suit) then make it outside of your body then you would have a copy of yourself. After that you would only need to change the texture and color of the barrier and voila, you have a copy of yourself.
Flying is easier, since the barrier can fly, you can stand on it to fly.
This is most likely the thought process of the author.
It isnt like it is pulled out of his ass though, if you look at Tower of God you can see the same elements shown by the light bearers with their light houses (which are simply put barriers). Those elements were used by more then one author and are kind of known by the majority of the authors and readers and thus, are mostly accepted.

@Teney I know what you mean but I just cannot accept it. Creating barriers means he could theoretically create everything humanity has come up with in our world by using his barrier as a basic building block like material whose properties he can probably influence. However that would mean he needs deep knowledge about the intricate inner workings of for example the human body or mana measurement. Way too much for a drop-out. Universal geniuses are dead cause our knowledge has expanded too much so it would be too much for any of us!

I'm sure there are going to be other examples later on but I won't be dealing with it. Didn't know that barrier magic was commonly used like that to such a degree but I've seen similar elsewhere so I guess you're right about that.
How on earth would he know how o connect to another dimension, decode the code the data is written in and display all the data perfectly just so he can let his sister watch anime in another world? And even if he knew all of that he'd still need to find a way to receive, transport and translate signals into another form for signal transmission unless he can control electric currency, magnetism or light as well as strenghten all those like e usually have to do in our hardware
It was supposed to take his place later on meaning that he is trying to create something with artificial intelligence that can act on its own

Why does the guy getting reincarnated always have to be plain or a loser fuck this dude i'm sick of it. Isekai adds nothing to this story, you could've just cut out his backstory and you'd have a perfectly fine fantasy when will this end
