Dumb blackmail letter:

"I noticed you rescued a baby. Do not give it to the authorities. Spend your precious time and money caring for it, and one day I'll come take it back even though I left him to die. I am totally trustworthy. If you don't listen, I'll tell the school, which incidentally provides your alibi anyway."

As another commenter said, Momoko could get in trouble with the cops, since he has no birth certificate or anything (that we know of). I'm not sure if he was born in a hospital or not, but I doubt it. The courts/cops could always DNA test Momoko and the baby and prove they're unrelated.

@gronkle Although I think this was just an ass pull excuse/plot element invented by the author to make the whole story possible, like @darara said, but if you absolutely force yourself to find some logic behind it, more or less the only possibilities are: the blackmailer has the wits of a rubber boot or it's actually a plot to ruin the MC's life. Trick her into keeping the baby, and she will eventually turn from a hero into a villain by raising a child that officially doesn't exist or has been declared missing. If the MC truly keeps the baby without telling about it to the officials, this will be one of the series that are difficult to read due to the massive plot hole.
