Called it, Sensei is even further Shitsei than I thought he was.
What a fucking piece of shit. At least the mother of Haru can use the excuse that she's simply a scared, lonely and stupid kid. But her mom (well, shit, everyone in this manga that is a genuine mother has been flat out fucking awful thus far) and the Shitsei are just contemptuous asshats.

Personally I'm all for Momo and Haru just deciding to make their own life and happiness and for the rest of them to wallow in despair off panel.

Welp, this chapter was really heavy but the point that I want to touch is, being on this girl's side of the story, is it really a thing to seek affection through physical relationship?

Yes. It works differently for different people. People that have been in abusive (whether emotional or physical) relationships sometimes resort to this. As do people that were abused as children. Or people that are just starved for human affection in general. And then there's sex addicts which are a range of conflicted emotions (and often actually hate having sex or don't enjoy it as much as other people and just utilize it as a method or reason and it somehow makes them feel more whole again). And it's similar to the reason why humans turn towards a lot of things. Alcohol or drugs help you forget temporarily and take your mind and edge off and let you feel some relief. Sex can easily be enjoyable and it's easy for someone that wants to to convince themselves that exchanging bodily fluids means that you're loved and wanted. Which, if that person is desperate for, is basically like danging a bottle of booze in front of an alcoholic.

Add in emotionally and affectionately starved for someone that has an abusive or neglecting parent from a young age and hormones and sex drive from the height of puberty and you can see how this ends.
...And in the cases where this does happen for real, it's often done so with a large, large helping of selective and deliberate targeting of these people by those that use them for sex. Sensei being young and handsome and not giving a fuck about the underage girl he just got pregnant past "I don't want to get fired or go to jail, so what about your parents" angle and him likely being the one that told her to kill her baby as we saw from the silhouette in the shower scene from a few chapters back... Well... It seems more calculating than anything resembling caring. She wanted someone to be there and to love her, and he made it seem like he'd provide that.

Swindlers, abusers, cheats/conmen, ect. all have a talent for spotting a good target to victimize - sadly.

@sirflimflam the one we saw in this chapter is definitely asshole sensei, if you look at the chin shape, the neck, the hair color and the hair cut. I still have a small hope that he isn't the father, since the figure we saw in the shower was quite bulky...
