Joshikousei no Mudazukai - Vol. 3 Ch. 34 - Growth

It never ceases to amaze me how the chuuni affectation seems so culturally universal. Everyone seems to know someone who was like that at that age. I wonder why.

I think it's because that's the point in our life when we realize what a shitty reality we live in, and try to run away from it by pretending to be someone else from another world.
Before then, we actually still believe we could turn into some sort of superhuman, so we just play pretend in preparation for the day it really happens.

Must have been difficult for the author to switch from his(?) regular art style to draw something that convincingly looks like it was drawn by a child. (In other news, I'm also wondering whether Sakuchi's first name appeared before this chapter.)

See, this is why I never read my old writing. Even something a year or so ago can feel weird now.

Looking through old art is a mix of “aw I was so bad at drawing” and “OH GOD I WAS SO BAD AT DRAWING”
