I think the author have attention span problem, instead of focusing on one POV story, he keep changing scene, either to somewhere else or flashback...

I personally think the flashbacks are interesting. They slowly reveal the history of the series - revealing character development throughout the years. I also think the chapters are long enough that fitting in multiple scenes per chap is doable. I'm biased though lol
