Jui-san no Oshigoto in Isekai - Vol. 3 Ch. 19 - The Next Objective

Doriad = Dyrad in case the translation team wants to correct it in the future.

No, really, is there no other way to get money? Why is it always a quest or monster subjugation?

That said, he does consider the idea of making and selling medicines, but points out that he still needs the funds to kickstart the business. And I can udnerstand why, in such a world, it may be better to earn the funds himself and not depend on a problematic noble, or merchant, or banker. Let's not forget how Gutenberg lost his printing workshop to his moneylender.

Also, does this mean that Liz is finally safe?

As long as Liz is safe, everything's good. Now, if Kazami got a bit closer to Liz, everything would be perfect, not just good.

@HDMI1 Not Dyrad, Dryad.

Why does every isekai or series set in fantasy game world seem to have an obligatory “we need to get more money” arc?

@xyzzy Is that a serious question? How do you live without money? In almost every fantasy RPG you are also collecting money and treasure to fund your adventure.

Besides, there are some series where the MC is rich from the beginning or almost from the beginning, especially those where the MC wakes up as their previous high level player character, but also those where they are reborn in a noble family or take over a noble family member's body.

I, for one, glad about this chapter and its play of basic politic and negotiation skill. A lot of fantasy manga often disregard this and have the MC too hotblooded to play politic.

I feel a little dumb. I read the literal transverse and understand what he wanted but I don't understand the nuances of the conversation/negotiation.

Can anyone tell me what they meant?

I just want ID on the chracters in the end. I recognize the ogre dude, and Sword cat, but who is claw guy, fox, and wolf thing?

Isnt he supposed to be summoned and asisted by a country? He couldve asked for funding for a slave, or funding to open a pharmacy, or just straight up start using his fame from curing the ghoul disease to start raking in money. All the things he couldve done, and he chose black mail and subjugation. What the actual fuck

If anyone's curious about this, I'm pretty sure it was heavily discussed by now in the group page comment section. Most of the series are also pretty identifiable by their covers from that same general area, due to often having the characters who are in this picture on their own series cover pages. Only one or two of them honestly gave me any trouble to find by those means, but at least one of those ones was still easy enough to find once I looked at older covers for the series. The group has worked on a large number of series but it's still quicker to look through them than checking the entire isekai genre tag for these characters one by one.

If he asked for funding instead of earning it himself, it would mean he would be indebted and would be obligated to answer their requests. He already has to answer to the prince's requests, so asking for any more wouldn't be prudent. Also, it would be weird to ask the prince to give him money to buy a slave from a vassal - there's conflict of interest. He can't ask funding from anyone in politics who themselves are trying to gain renown off of MC's achievements. That said, there's no concrete way to earn money out from subjugating the hydra especially when a certain lord is also trying to claim that achievement. The only way he could earn from the renown of creating the ghoul vaccine without begging money from merchants (prelude to big pharma that would be against his humanitarian goals) and citizens is to actually sell medicine (not the ghoul vaccines that was already provided for free), which is what he is already planning to do but he needs funds to start it.

The talk with Donni isn't blackmail, but trying to establish a fair relationship - he wants something from him after all. This also sets a precedent that MC can't be taken advantage of.
