Ok, so it seems Jun is supposed to be the "guy" and Kaoru is supposed to be the "girl". It even said in the first chapter that Kaoru is a girlish name and Jun is a boyish name.

...but truthfully, Jun is so much better as a girl. I really with he'd remain as a girl, he's just so cute! And Kaoru is an absolute ikemen as a guy too.
