This manga is so cute, its a situation I would die to be in as such it is in my favorites list ^_^

I'm super late, but yay! I love this series. I started reading it nearly a decade ago and I'm so happy that someone's continuing it. The story has a lot of rough edges, but the characters are really fun and have great chemistry.

A very cute series!! Old but nice.

The ending is a bit of a tearjerker :'D
 
So I finished reading it, and I can say it's a pretty good story, with a cute artstyle.
The problem is,
was Junpon a "real" ghost, or did the mc really have Dissociative identity disorder ? It kinda reminds me of a manga with a similar story, Inside Mari.
 
A well rounded fun manga with a good length and good ending.


A general summary that might be a bit more accurate would be:

Kimura Junichi and Yoshida Gashou are best friends and Judo rivals. One night after having a conversation Junichi ends up saving Gashous life at the cost of his own. Junichis spirit wanders restlessly observing how his peers and best friend react to his demise. That is until he encounters a girl named Fukunaga Ai, who was about to commit suicide. He tries to save her and but in the process ends up trapped in her body alongside her and she survives. He resolves to help her want to live and enjoy her life. As well as trying to bring Ai and Gashou together so they both can be happy and he can rest in peace.


Spoilers for the ending for those that are not sure if they want to read it all.

Ai eventually learns of Junichi s existence and is appreciative of the things he has done for her, and the two become close and work together. Gashou also learns of Junichis existence in Ai, and gets to resolve his guilt over Junichi sacrificing himself. In the end Junichi is successful in bringing Ai and Gashou together as a couple, and because of Junichis impact on her life she becomes more confident and happy(including helping her resolve her relationships with others)

And in regards to Junichi and Gashous relationship.
Those expecting the semi typical genderswap cliches such as romance(best friend swaps genders, falls in love with best friend) will be largely disappointed, though there are some bits that may somewhat satisfy. It isn't entirely clear exactly what Junichi feels toward Gashou, though if I had to classify(others may draw different conclusions) it I would call it a bromance(really close friends who get along very well together in a deep, affectionate, but platonic way). It isn't entirely clear with the teasing Junichi does, and it seems open to interpretation.(that is to say whether Junichi is actually just teasing, or if he truly has romantic/sexual feelings towards Gashou)

In the end if you like wholesome SoL stories with some humor mixed in, you probably will like this as well. Only being around 20 chapters long, you probably won't regret giving it a shot. I went into it not expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised at how it turned out.

I read a lot of slice of life, and this is one that didn't draw on too long and ended in a way that felt satisfying.
