You know it almost feels as if the two are connected to the previous hero. Like everyone has been saying, maybe Wallace is the light hero of legends and Aria (the witch girl) is the princess. Something happened and they are each tied to their place to help the heroes on their journeys. One is tied to the beginning to help start the journey and the other is tied to the end to be the final push to defeat the evil and their only connection is through the mirror.
