Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen - Vol. 12 Ch. 118 - Miyuki Shirogane Wants to Expand

Damn Fujiwara has come a VERY long way from that airhead chaos element she used to be in the beginning, given she had to raise a "child" a few times evolution and maturity was bound to set in, but that Savagery was SAVAGE!!

Yay! Shijo gets a line! And without her collapsing into a pile of tears on the floor!

Also Tsundere Chika is pretty cute too.

@Glomoro that's not what the trope is about, it's just how the autor uses it. Shirogane fills the "hardworking guy" role in this series similar to Rock Lee does on Naruto, both are pretty normal when compared to the rest of the cast.
In Shirogane is played for laughs and his "normal" trait is presented in 2 easy ways to the reader:
1. Fujiwara's traumatic experiences.
2. His sleep schedule.

@namebanned No, seriously. He's not "normal" at all though. That's the level this gag is at. He's an oddity. Putting normal in quotations doesn't help it to become the trope you're talking about, he is LESS THAN HUMAN at various activities until she helps him train his ass off to still be worse than regular people should be. The hardworking characteristic is literally only making him less than average at most of these random things like dancing and singing. That's the joke here, he's the hardworker character but he starts off so bad that he still can't become normal.

@Glomoro that's just how the autor decided to use the trope though. After all he is supposed to be the normal person of his group at first glance, when in reality he is below average.

By now, I have to wonder whether there's anything he's good at. With his test results, he should be great at studying and he's working multiple part-time jobs, so he should be decent at various skills. But at this point, it looks like he's incompetent at everything.

@Glomoro He's as normal as a character can be in a manga where even the characters, that are intended to be normal, are completely insane.

@Gian He's great at every area of academics, cooking, sprint, card games, drawing, astronomy and he doesn't seem to need more than 2 weeks to learn new stuff.
