The only two good characters are hoshina because he's just your average chad and ichikawa but they made ichikawa jobbed right after figuring out enemy weakness so kafka can shine the rest of the cast is just inoffensive and boring. The kaiju designs are fine but boring

what makes me angry is that when this shit got an anime, it's probably going to be praised as "shounen done right" when it's fucking not

Compared to the usual 15 or 16 year old personality-free protagonists that make girls wetter than the mariana trench just by existing (one of those linked below), this is extremelt tame wish fulfillment.

To play the devil's advocate here, Kafka spent most of his time quite literallt in monsters, and in an emergency, you don't have time to waste while waiting for the operator to connect you to R&D.

That's a lot of words spent on being mad at a generic battle shounen when it's just that, generic. But even generic is better than a lot of the battle shounens out there, including ones that got an anime.

This is comparatively the most innoffensive one, especially with crap like The Reincarnation Magician of the Inferior Eyes (https://mangadex.org/title/36284/the-reincarnation-magician-of-the-inferior-eyes) out there, pissing in the battle shounen pool
