@KidLinch I was confused about the "the doujinshi mentioned above" bit too since there wasn't any mention of one above, but I guess if you're ESL it's just a misunderstanding with the phrase. When people say "the thing mentioned above" they mean that it was mentioned above the current sentence on the same page, not just "the thing mentioned previously", but it's really minor either way.

So after reading this my guess is that the demon lord found the blessed hero MC and decided to raise him as a demon without even giving him a weapon so that he would never know he was a human let alone a hero. This way the demons never have to beat him and while he's alive no new hero can take his place, given that its likely a "god of war" blessing thing.
