10/10 manga. Both this one and the Prequel Youkai Banchou

I've never read such a strange, nonsensical, and funny battle manga.

7 chapters in and I still have no idea what tone they're going for. Plenty of action but the art style is to its detriment. It's not stylized or exaggerated enough for comedic effect either though. I guess the youkai and the nudity could have been interpreted as funny but again it came off rather flat.

I skimmed a couple chapters after reading this and I think it's much better. All the gags feel rushed in the sequel.

Hm. Not a bad read at all, although I think I enjoyed the first one more. It is weird but it's a likeable weird.

The oddity and hyperbolic reactions of the characters was fun, for a while. Got pretty tired of it by the 10th or so chapter.
The joke about the MC's kissing also got old very quickly. Face-planting himself into Miko went from being a quirk, and it turned into a detriment. You can't just keep hammering the same "odd thing" over and over again, it transforms from being weird to either plain boring or annoying.
