So he's an idiot who can't even comprehend the fact that Tendou likes him romantically? Or is he just telling his side of the one-sided love? Either way, he ain't winning
@Tenshi_A amen.
I was all for tachibana x tendou but eeeeehhhh Senpai seems like a better boy. Also I have a special place in my heart for low-key reckless/careless but empathic and smart boys.
Oi oi Tachibana sister zoned him and I'm confused just as much as you all are since tendou was very clear when she confessed to him. Is he pretending to be an idiot or really is one? Either way he really deserves a slap in the face for this bs.
@Siddj he is not clueless, he just does not like her as a love interest, only loves her as a non-incestual little sister. It is natural that now when he understands how she truly feels he is shaken.
There should be no slapping here, now that the cards are out in the open, decisions have to be made and life will go on according to these decisions.
To all:
Why is it idiotism to expect the person you look at as a sibling to NOT love you in an incestual way? Did all the shit manga out there break your common sense?
i get what tachibana feels, but i have NO idea of what hes aiming to do. like, u r not obligated to feel the same, but be responsible and give her distance u know
@Maala aside that things can change over time yadda yadda, there is a pecularity in this situation in that Tachibana makes a point in avoiding seeing others a certain way because he thinks personal relationships are a distraction from his tennis career. he's the guy that wanted Tsubasa and Yuu to get together not because he acknowledged his position as hopeless suitor that had to let her go for her happines, but because he wanted her of hiss maind to focus on tennis. So there is sill doubt how much he can't see Tendou as a woman and how much he actively doesn't want to for the same reason as above.
Also there is another point that is legitimate source of frustration. That is he even sees her as a "little sister" instead of simply a "sister", which is odd considering they actually are of the same age. This indicates that while he cares about here he still is patronizing towards her and sees her as someone "below" him that has to be looked after, while she wants to at least be a peer to him
@Maala - good one! @Entryhazard - I think the little sister/big sister thing is just because the older sibling is supposed to look out for the younger one, so since he's trying to help her, he sees his role as that of the older sibling.
@Entryhazard Well, if Tendou wants to be seen as an equal, she has to work for it. As Tachibana said, she already done it twice, so she might be just there soon.
The tennis thing is definitely a part of his problem too. However imo the difference between Tendou and Tsubasa is that Tsubasa was an internal distraction to tennis (as she plays tennis and is interested in it, iirc Tachibana already knows Tsubasa is healed? no?), while Tendou is an external interference to tennis. That's a slight but important difference, you want to solve internal problems in your life asap, while you can just turn a blind eye to external problems most of the time because you don't meet them during the time you do what you want.
Maybe this is why Tendou still has a chance with him if he decides to because (poor example incoming) he can like sleep 2 hours less in favour of tending Tendou for 2 hours a day and it wont take time away from his path on tennis. Hope you got the gist of what I want to say with my poor example. :-)
@AsuraRaza well that's kind of the point, that he doesn't see him and Tendou on the same level, which is regarldess of romantic feelings. Tendou is frustrated also by this lack of reciprocality in which she is not considered a peer (an equal) but someone that has to be taken care of by someone in a better standing. There is an oddity in the use of the word "sympathy" in this chapter because the context doesn't really fit, so I expect the meaning is more in line with "pity". He thinks he should help her and she should accept it because she needs it, but he doesn't want her returning the favor because he doesn't think he needs her in any capacity.
@Maala why does she need to work for it? was she born as a lesser being? because he is from a family of rich philantrophists?
