Right... the kid who can just do everything with slimes.... builds a pit-trap in a stupid place, leaves wide enough areas either side for goblins to get past... and in the middle of combat he jumps over the gobbos into the middle of them and turns his back to the cave they were coming out of.

I suspect whoever is adapting this story to manga is to blame for at least half of that stupidity.

And... pushing the goblins into the pit from behind the pit? Wouldn't that be pulling? Oh, but they're not pulling either. They're just.... poking? ...

This whole incident is just stupid.

The goblins that keep putting their tongue out for no reason and the positioning of the acid moat really killed me
who is this artist and why must they wreck the story so badly in this manga.

This scene was in the mines in the novel. The mangaka kinda changed everything. It wasn't this out the in open. Maybe the author of the novel wanted them to do the scene a little differently in the manga though. In the novel it was impossible to get past the pit trap without vaulting it somehow. The manga version kinda nerfed the moat. In the novel they basically flooded over the moat and that's what caused the adventurers to get pushed back. This outdoor scene though in the manga. The goblins could have just rushed around the sides of the moat.... I'm chalking this one up to the mangaka not really visualizing the scene as described in the novel.

The only effective way to fight goblins: use their tactics against them, quantity is a quality of its own.
