@Aichan It's being attributed to the same logic as village before the last dungeon's MC... I think...
Though, in this one we have a ninja-ish girl fooling around behind the scenes, probably keeping him in the dark.
I'm guessing he hasn't been told about common logic by anyone and has just been told stories about heroes and such from books.
