Which made the purity of her questionable for some.
Those people canceled orders for figures/manga/pillows, burnt their figures, tore down their Kannagi collection and started to send death threats to the author.
Author went on a hiatus presumably from health issues unrelated to the controversy which probably worsened the situation.
Author later tried to retcon it.
