This may be cringey, but it's also kinda cute and sweet... as someone who has never had a relationship because of a bad illness I gotta admit deep down that I'd love something like this... I'd never go through with it for a few obvious reasons but its still a kinda sweet thought. I think people need to chill with hating Kazuya a little though, I mean he may be kinda lame but isn't the point of the story that he sucks at relationships and has next to no self-confidence? I think he's made a decent amount of progress, this arc/chapter might just make him seem to have regressed since he's doing something he never thought he'd be able to do, and he himself knows it's embarrassing and cringey.

What progress has he made? He gets full of himself, blows a lot of hot air, and then he shrinks his tail between his legs. Then repeats this process over and over again.

He won't stand up to Mami. He won't tell his grandmother the truth, she's definitely going to catch him in the lie or already knows. He won't clearly and definitely tell Ruka he's not interested. He won't tell Chizuru (god she's is so forgettable, that's her name right?) how he feels. He's unwittingly leading Sumi on. The guy is a scumfuck. With as many lies as he's tangled himself up in, the only way I see this story ending is that everything is torn down around him and everyone leaves him. Then he leaves and there's a time skip, and one of the girls gives him another chance.

Just be clear, I'm judging him as if he's a real human. As a character he's actually pretty good.
