I hate to say it because I'm a little pissed off with the pacing just like everyone else, but if all of us are still reading at this point, that means the author is doing a really good job at roping us in. We might not like exactly how the story is unfolding, but if our attention has been kept this whole time, then he is accomplishing his goal

Ive read trash romcom. But this one is the only one where i dont root for mc to win any of the girls. Girls concept are decent, mami probably had the most story potential out of all of them but author shove her out for many chap because she will break the story. Grannies are honestly the best characters. But fuck kazuya seriously, i thought after movie arc he will get better but he still waste many panels getting horny monologue. Im still reading just because i want to know how low kazuya can get and the girls will still accept it.

And dont compare it to komi, komi actually started as slice of life with some romance nowadays. Rent gf is a soap opera.

@OKyushu, no there are plenty of horny mc in romcoms/ecchi in HIGHSCHOOL and they still act more decent than kazuya. kazuya is just a doormat, desperate and insufferable,he's in college but act like school graders with girls. Grand blue mc is one good example of healthy horny man in UNIVERSITY, but acts like decent man compared to kazuya. the only thing kazuya has in common with normal boy irl is the fact he masturbated and got post nut clarity in early chapters. there's also the whole thing about how he keeps lying about his relationship, not standing firm to tell ruka to back off and basically keep digging his problems deeper. i've never once in reading this manga and thought "hey, kazuya and this girl have nice chemistry, might root for them", most of the time i go with "this guy is pathetic" and "how tf does this girl(ruka/sumi) obsessed with this guy"

just because kazuya being virgin and horny doesnt make him /ourguy/ or even normal guy. author wasting several pages describing his horniness on the girls clothing doesnt make him likable.

I just like reading the comments every week because y’all are all bitter over something so stupid just be happy it’s a weekly thing, there’s ones like my first girlfriend is a gal and uzaki Chan where chapters come out like once a month if that. There are genuine people who can’t talk to others of the opposite sex not know how to express themselves. Just because maybe you can doesn’t mean the next person can. @daxude Why are you comparing Kazuya to other MCS? Clearly the author knew how other mcs are just developed in the same way and he wanted to try something new which he goes in depth in a boy life instead of just referencing it.

He only lies so he can show his grandma that he is a good grandson. most of the time if you read the manga you can see nagomi bullying kazuya but I agree he shouldn't be lying and I think this is one of his flaws. Him been likeable is up to the reader. Not all the time you should be satisified with your main character. I honestly like Kazuya even though he does something wrong. He has done alot in the manga but I feel like people forget what he has done just because he fucks up a little bit by overthinking. For example lets start (Saved Chizuru Life, Told Chizuru to rental date with kuri so he can get out of his depression, told chizuru that she is a perfect actress when she hasn't gotten the job, saved her from getting her identity by making mistakes in the drunk arc, helped her make a movie, helped her show a movie to her grandma, told her its okay to cry (chizuru), told ruka that she can date and other things in the manga). True Kazuya is your regular mc in other romcoms who is generic and they share somewhat all the same features.

I find Kazuya really good wrote. I will compare to my own relation with a girl : I really love her. She is the best girl around the world for my eyes and I can't stop thinking on her. But I'm to scared to tell her. If I was Kazuya, I'd do the same.
It's very complicated to do it when you don't want lose your friend if she tells you no. It's why I dont want tell her. Kazuya is one of the most good wrote MC

The author is a master of keeping this story going. We get a confession scene that shows that kazuya has a bit more courage and is able to admit his feelings, chizuru actually heard the confession and some how the plotpoint is still going farther.
