Also, he could become insanely overpowered if he invested in some kind of counter-skill.

Almost expecting that they group up and go up the stairs and the slimes from the entire first floor are still at the floor exit.

could he attack the slimes at the top of the stairs with a long weapon, while standing on the stairs? to get some xp. or maybe his attack is too low to matter

So evasion doesn't let you evade skills? Forget overpowered, it's actually garbage. Everyone who called the main character a moron up to this point were right to do it. He should have put those points into defense and attack instead.
