@justanothermanganerd Pretty sure the child refused to wear a jacket. There are also many ways to educate children. We have the 'Force the child to wear a jacket anyway.' Then there is the 'Let them learn by experiencing the cold'.
Pretty sure the latter is more effective, especially on stubborn people like me.

Kinda reminds me of this one joke a comedian made awhile back about the difference between how moms and dads teach kids.
Kid: *about to touch stove*
Mom: Don't touch the stove honey! It's hot!
Kid: what's hot?
Mom: *starts trying to verbally explain the concept of relative degrees of heat to a 2 year old*
Kid: *about to touch stove*
Dad: Don't touch the stove. It's hot.
Kid: what's hot?
Dad: Touch the stove.
Of course, this teaching method doesn't always work. One of my nephews touched the stove and sat there with both his hands on it screaming until someone got him...
This manga is perfect when it's just Takagi and Chii.
The author should really avoid including Nishikata unless he plans to write him as a proper adult instead of someone whose personality, intelligence and relationship with his wife hasn't changed from when he was a little kid.
