@beperov This is Japan. If a girl is pregnant, her family will make sure the man took responsibility and married her before her stomach showing. If he refused then the girl will get an abortion. It is hard to live as a single mom in Japan and men in Japan don't have to pay child support so it is unlikely a girl will keep the child since it will be hard to support both of them or getting remarried. Asian men and their family don't like women who already have kids especially those have kids without being married. It is a taboo for having a child without being married. A taboo so great that a girl would skip town to find a place where nobody know about that.

We have that in the US. The baby is called a 6 month miracle, since it's born 6 months after the "wedding night."

@miyako19 You don't necessarily have to get married to take responsibility. My aunt and uncle have been together for 30 years, raised two kids to college, as well as supporting each other. You don't need a legally binding document to love each other.

I feel like the main problem with this manga is that it tries too hard to recreate the original. Like, the whole following them around thing works when they're in middle school, but as adults it's just really weird. I wish they'd had the characters change just a bit from when they were kids. On a separate note, how is literally every character in this so cute
