It is Faceless.

Narumi has silver strips of hair on the sides of his head, and even if they were temporary there is no plot device that would justify him trying to kill Shirogane, he doesn't have the character profile of jumping to kill even when he is being deceived by some information, Faceless knows about Shirogane's feelings he is trying to deal with them.

Edit: So i just remembered that Narumi might not remember Shirogane, so he may mistake her for Francine... well fuck. But i am still convinced it is Faceless with his plans.

Yeah, this is much better than the “wow Guy had just left right before Narumi entered the scene, what are the odds of that” version in the anime.

@alacaelum there are dude if you look back to before masaru took over as the pov. During the annihilation war to defeat Francine the automata boss that narumi participated a lot of his comrades died for him to reach her and kill her. But then he found out that she was a fake created by Francine in order to leave the automata behind. There was even some hints of romance with a shirogane and narumi before like ALL the shirogane that participated died with him being the only survivor i think. SO then he probably starts looking for the real Francine to finish the job and make it so his friends sacrifice would be for nothing. Then he arrives in japan and sees shirogane with the exact same face as Francine so what do u think his conclusion is? You gotta remember that narumi does not have all the facts like guy does, he is a newcomer shirogane and pretty much all the shirogane are dead so the organization is done structurally.
