@DatFcker Probably a late decision from the author to reflect the fact the og K-1 WGP folded in 2012, the year the final chapters of KSKM were published. As a fight fan himself he must have been disheartened. As a matter of fact, the deah of K-1 was the last straw of a slow decline that started with the death of Pride FC in 2006, effectively ushering Japan into a "dark age" of combat sports.
With that said, loosely tying those real life events to the big wigs in KSKM in such a rushed manner is very awkward.
