Translation notes on the elevator with the small-clawed otter Friend, page 3:
-The original text in the elevator display isn't written in Japanese. The style evokes a corrupted version of Japanese writing(kana and kanji). It's a substitution cipher for English letters, both uppercase (Kanji-like) and lowercase(kana-like). Here is the key: https://twitter.com/syanisu/status/622299090655670272
-It is, however, being to write Japanese in Romanized form. The display says case-for-case "Kotumekauso", コツメカワウソ, or Small-clawed otter, with another letter cut off at the end (looks like a lowercase "o"). The translation should probably not be written with all-caps.
-This distorted text gets used at several other points in the comic when anomalies write things, in the background or bits of text here and there.
