Well, his idea of opening a pet shop was contradictive since the beginning. If you love something so much, it's a given you won't let it go and want to take care of it yourself. I was expecting this situation would happened sooner or later.

Also, we finally see the importance of Carmilla to the business. Her job is to fight him and help hold him down in case something like that happens lol
