Kenja no Mago - Vol. 12 Ch. 38

@Kaarme Indeed money loses value if you remove the beings who valued it. I am not sure thats the end goal though. It also depends what the "money" is made from. If the value is secured in something which will retain its value regardless of who's in charge, it can be traded with that in mind. Land is one such commodity which is always valuable.

Honestly as demons you would be better off conquering the world in a way that allows you to leech off of its inhabitants than by destroying them. Otherwise you have to create an entire society from scratch.

This chapter made me remember what Merlin said before. How he read the story about himself and wondered "Who the hell was this", lol. Wonder if the king used the same tactic to help out his old friend after the war...

@Kaarme I was pointing out how Zest is abusing his "position" to make the Hunter do some dirty work for him. I was making a parallel to the Nobles that abused their positions to make the Hunters do dirty work for them.

The "plot armor" was that the Hunter will do the task for him "because the author said so." He's got no attachment, no debt/favor to repay, no stated reward, and no actual gain. The "plot armor" is a self-declared intelligence agent who's lacking in the intelligence, tact, or even charisma to get people to work for him.

There's alot of "implied second in command" going around, but he was never given that rank.

That's like saying, "NYOO, THE NAME JESUS CAN ONLY BE USED BY JESUS CHRIST, no one else is worthy of that name but our Lord! You're nothing but a fake & imposter!"

Anyway this current Pope sounded like a bitter old woman who was discarded when she retired from the spotlight.
