@StLL You'd think some among them would. However, generally speaking their side carries quite a poor image on the humans' side, so it might be difficult for them to be trusted enough for any negotiations to happen. When the manga began, I was under an impression the demons don't quite possess their old human feelings and senses anymore, as becoming one naturally requires getting pushed well beyond the limits, cracking the mind. However, demons can create other demons, and there's no way all of them would have lived through such gruesome ordeals. At this point I've no idea what makes them different from humans at all, aside from the high magic power. At the very least the manga hasn't depicted them as being extremely uncooperative, irritable, unreasonable, aggressive, cruel, etc so that they simply couldn't live alongside humans no matter what. Their behavior is no different from humans. As a whole, the only difference between them and ordinary humans is their power, which means they don't need to rely on a society. Technically the ultimate magicians are exactly the same.

Deer kill hunters every year, lol. They also kill predators 1v1 when they can't run away. And those are the does, lol.
Stags are REALLY dangerous. My grandfather was almost killed because a stag didn't like the sound of his motorcycle and slammed into him once he started driving down the road. His leather jacket is probably the only thing that saved his life before the ambulance came.

@Kaarme As you said, to become a demon in this story, you need to be pushed beyond your limits, but that's not all. You also have to survive that process without breaking your mind, like what happen to Kurtz (the student that was stalking Cecily). To do so I believe you must have some kind of motive to which you must hold tight to not lose your mind. In all the demons we have meet so far, that motive is their hate for others humans, if not for humanity as whole. It's unlikely then that they will try to talk things with humans at this point.
Maybe, just maybe, if demons have children, those children will not have the grudges of their parents and will try to make peace with humans in the future, but who knows how far this story will let demons exist at this point.
Edit: Because I almost forgot to say that Maria is a good girl that deserves to be happy, so autor, give her a good boyfriend already.

So there's like a hundred or so lasting Devils right? Like the weak ones, the strong ones has like 2 dozen of 'em.
And then an idea just occurred to me.
The Ultimate Magicians don't need the army at all, actually, they're a hindrance, they just have to enter Demon Territory up to a certain amount, like the stronghold they just found, and then spur up some Gate Magic and cheers mate, you got yourself 0 days tired of travel army into enemy territory in a question of a few hours.
The problem with this thinking is how big of Gate they can make...
But well, surely they could use Gate Magic to traverse a fucking river, eh?

But no seriously, her desperation for a boyfriend reminds me of the club president in Senryuu Shoujo. It's probably a bit self sabotaging, so the more she wants it to happen or the harder she tries it'll just push dudes away.
