Kenja no Mago - Vol. 5 Ch. 17

I'm not saying that I sympathize for Strom, but I feel his actions are justified. Screw the nobles of the Empire, they deserve every last bit of pain they receive.

Another evidence that this is a great manga, the antagonist have a motive that is relatable to the audience.

Yeah, he is a hypocrite for turning Kurtz into a kind of noble that he himself despised only for the sake of his experiment, but he's not the MC, he's the antagonist so all his actions are justified.

Still tho, is Ultimate Magic Research Society capable of fighting of an entire nation of demons?

I mean, you gotta figure that a lot of the humans turned demon are going to be fairly low level. Strom wasn't that happy with Kurt's level of power after the change as you might recall. With Shin advancing his friends and other people in power bit by bit while he works on his own, I'd expect a large number of the devils to end up as the relatively easy ones even with a number of them around. The ones Strom is actually keeping close to his side would be the ones we'd see the decent battles against, not to mention probably some that haven't even been turned yet. It's the difference between random villager A being turned, and a person who was already a powerful magic user beforehand that'll probably start to stand out as the number of them increase.

@DANDAN_THE_DANDAN

I think you're missing the point, he's not doing this as an anti-hero fighting the nobles that oppressed the population.

The way I see it, he seems to hate the world and in particular the nobles for abandoning him but he still carries the same mentality as them, as long as he has power he's above everyone else, the commoners or those other devils he keeps by his side they are nothing more than pieces for his entertainment.

@wolfeng

I wasn't saying that he's a perfect anti-hero, the way that I meant to say it is that his revenge on the Nobles are completely justified because the Nobles are jerks who can't stop discriminating. Sorry if my wording implied any other means.

Hmm, I'm guessing he was backstabbed by the upper echelons of the "emipre" before he turned into a demon.

So Strom doesn't even need to wear a mask to hide his eyes anymore? Can he just magically make his demonic eyes look normal whenever he wants now? What was the point of wearing the mask from before then? Bah.
