Kenja no Mago - Vol. 8 Ch. 27

Take note, "Demon Lord" should probably be "Maou"(sp?) (king of magicians) it makes more sense why would they call someone demon lord?

I know it loses the japanese joke, but calling him demon lord is awful. Even "mage king" would be better.

ahha maou ah poor bastard, also what the hell did the demons mean at the end? like they are gonna play their part, also who is that ''Saint'' girl' have we seen her before?

@Frumph: It's technically not wrong, since that IS the writing for Demon Lord (also Maou) most of the time.

since the 'ma' in Maou can be both evil/demon and magic (mahou)

That said I agree that in this particular case translating it is the wrong choice, just leaving it as Maou is probably best.

That archbishop guy, if I’m not wrong, he’s planning on targeting Cicily, so here’s a warning for him, if anyone can please pass it on to him: “ don’t try to even go within 10 miles radius of Cicily if you don’t want your body turn into dust, please and thank you”

The author's intent was the joke, demon lord. So the current translation should stand. Having it in a tn that it also means magic king could help. But they prefixed it with "the king of magicians" so its not really necessary. Most readers of this genre already know what maou means, and can figure this much out. Plus we did recieve a tn not long ago for this. I dont see a need for them to explain it twice. Not enough space to tn everything every time.

Also, LOL, he was totaly played by the prince. And that image that popped in his mind when they called him that was quite nice. Though, he will probably be frozen solid if he tries that.

Anyone understand what the last page was about? Why r they talking about cooperating with Shin?

He spent the whole chapter cringing at the others' chunni names for their magic spells, and ends up getting named the Maou himself...

It should have been kept as "Ma-oh" as it had been written before, with an asterisk explaining the pun. Nobody in the crowd is cheering for the title "demon lord", they are cheering for "mage king" or "lord of magic".

When are these assholes going back to training? Aside from Shin, they could barely stand against the demons the last time they fought. Maybe instead of wasting their time with fucking beach trips and award ceremonies they could be busting their asses training so next time they actually manage to defeat their enemies.

Also, really? A cliche evil rapist priest? Come the fuck on, author.

Oh, looks like shin going to become a demon lord in act too, not only in name. He's going to kill "holy" man and destroy "holy" kingdom :) looking forward to it!

@Acolytus for what I understood, it was just 1 day they took to relax after their last confrontation, so it's not wrong. Tho I will agree with the cliche rapist priest, if there was a need for a villain in the church, there were much better options.

Can someone who read the LN spoil the next arc or two? (Pm or something) Cartoonishly rapey priests and overly dramatic antagonists are really turning me off to this but I want to give it a chance.
