Kenja no Mago - Vol. 8 Ch. 27

@goofydude actually maou (as in magic king) and maou(as in demon lord) were probably pronounced the same way, id have to look at the original kanji but if u want to get technical, 魔王 (what is commonly translated as demon lord) is literally the kanji for magic (as in 魔法 ie mahou) and the kanji for king (王) its just that 魔 can also mean demon as in 悪魔 or 魔物 so its actually just one word with 2 possible meanings (demon lord being what we are used to from pop fiction and games and what not) also technically they have 2 syllables each, what you are referring to with the "3 syllables" are actually known as 音 and theres a wikipedia article about them here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/On_(Japanese_prosody) but they are different from syllables. In english we call them morae.
i totally agree they needed some form of translator note tho and that the cooperate thing made no sense

Here's one I made 4 years ago, after getting sick of some of the fanfics people were writing over on RoyalRoad.
For those who don't know, RoyalRoad used to hold the novel translation for the series "The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor", but in the end got turned into a fanfic site for newbie to somewhat okay webnovel authors. Turns out that The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor lends itself ridiculously well to fanfics.

@boag:
I pretty much made it out of irritation, after reading three fanfics in a row that could have probably ticked off 90%+ of the squares each.

>Nekomimi are beastmen
You stay the hell off my cute catgirl beastmen, a cat is always fine too.

why is it that most religions in the isekai genre, has an evil, manipulating rapist ugly bastard as a leader?? I swear, I keep seeing them again and again, it starting to get annoying. Now, the ugly bastard will most likely try to kidnap the GF of the MC, and a possible attempted rape, OR if the Author is an evil bastard, it will happen. Either way, someone will get rekt.

I hope he just Goes beserk or like the bishop Guy kidnapping her and the demon Guy finds her and he saves the wife of shin or plottwist she demon Guy rapes and kills her

Demon lord shouldn't have been translated, and kept as an translators note, as the people were calling him "king of magic" while he was hearing "king of demons"
This is especially true considering they are hailing him for FIGHTING demons

@PhantomStarlight the problem is a bit more than just that to be honest. There are a few different words in Japanese that tend to be translated as "demon," but there's probably a nuance or two lost in that translation when they're getting lined up side by side and I'm not sure which one is used here, or even if it is only one being used. The thing going on with demon lord/magic king was also kind of possibly happening with the demonic animals and stuff to begin with, too, now that I think of it. I've seen a translation or two done by fans that couldn't seem to decide if demonic or magical beast were correct and I'm pretty sure I caught sight of that in at least one of the chapters here too, where it had been demons until suddenly some random bubble came out of nowhere talking about the magical beasts and then I had no idea if that was meant to be about the same thing or not.

TL;DR: Translations are like a massive, tangled wad of Christmas lights and we're the Griswolds just trying to get them to work so we can blind that lady from Seinfeld who is our nextdoor neighbor.

Maou Shin! (tbh harem would be nice ?)
As for perverted Archbishop-sama... i think i have yet to see a manga without a perverted priest/pope. Enough with the overused trope!

Demon lord lol

He said maou referring to demon king in pop culture.

The others misunderstood it as maou for magic king. Since they don't have demon king culture there. It's the same character but completely different meaning.

@firosahoge come forth my recommendations! Grant this person's desire!

@phoenixir haha, you got me, thanks tho, I might check those out. Still, the "unperverted" priest is the main character so it's kinda granted that they won't fall under the perverted/evil priest trope. How about we say perverted/evil priest trope only applies to side characters?

Kowalski, analysis

Fat. High-ranked church member. Pedophile. Ugly. Pig. Disgusting. And others...

If I recall correctly, that's the one of the kinds of character I hate, hate with a burning passion
