Okay, father really cracked me up. You have to be a special kind of stupid to not realize after all this time. The genetics finally add up though.

Everybody's like "now it makes sense that she's so good at magic, look at the parents," but I think it specifically mentioned the father's magic aptitude being in the ballpark of like 40 for just the augmentation type stuff, which is what he started using without even realizing it. All 9999 magic is still a bizarre ass anomaly in their kid unless they had ridiculous magic themselves, so no, it doesn't really make more sense now than it already did. Their daughter is a freak of nature whether they had any magic aptitudes themselves or not.
