As far as I know, it resumed publishing in Japan on 2017/2/17 in Young Gangan with chapter 60. But I can't find any raws beyond that new chapter. The official twitter hasn't been active since 2017/1/31 either. While Kyoichi Nanatsuki's twitter is still active and recently posted as of 2018/4/19 that they lost a briefcase with a manga manuscript in it.

Author is certainly alive and well. Seems to be teaching. And working on other titles. May or may not come back to writing this.
