I imagine the main conflict of the story will eventually be Shiina trying to dispel the Reanimation Spell, in a pretty tragic romance kind of way.
All that Mimi wants is someone who cares for her like her mother did, so it would even be the poetic resolution.

Damn, so her partner died. That was an unexpected blow to the feels. We didn’t even see anything of them aside from that one kiss, so I’m surprised at how upset I am that one of them died.
