Kimi ga Uso o Tsuita

hmm - for some reason all the chapters disappeared but whatever i got through all 12 of them.

I know you're supposed to suspend your disbelief but follow me here - What is 'Truth', is a Lie the same thing as a Falsehood?

Is a lie akin to saying 'the atmosphere is made of oxygen' when in reality it's many different molecules?

Same thing can be said if someone believes something to be true even though it's false does that make it a lie?

In which case the truth is irrelevant if you believe anything to be true. A fighter can believe that he will win but is it "Truth' until the victory?

This one is good melodrama but leaves me with a slightly bad aftertaste.

The incest-but-not-incest plot here boils down to something like a "siblings not related by blood" romance plot. But we magically know that the older brother did really think of himself as a brother (because magic lie detector) so it's a bit hard to countenance. To say nothing of the age gap. He also shows every sign of being... just a little bit of a creep, which is great for dramatic tension with the never-tells-lies bit thrown in, but leaves the eventual romance feeling even more suspect. At the end it's kind of like, "well, at least they're happy... I guess...?"

But yuck.

Like, for real human beings in this situation, I hope I'd be a bit more sympathetic here, them having been through a lot, but this is obviously a fully-engineered incest-fantasy setup for drama and fanservice's sake, so I'm not inclined to be so charitable.

Also, man, this series is merciless. The number of broken hearts and dead people it leaves in it's wake... XD At least four of each?
