Kimi ni Aisarete Itakatta - Vol. 3 Ch. 17 - Calories

Oh shit, what is she gonna do now that Narumi can't be there for her anymore

I want something fucked up to happen to all the girls in this manga and by the end they all stop associating with each other

Narumi is the only one worth it in this manga ! poor boy
Edit: will he's still fucked up but not crooked like these girls

I have both this feeling of anxiety and excitement whenever I see this updated, like

"Oh fuck it's that time of the month again, prepare for sad hours"

im so scared to read this every time it comes up... and relating so much with the anxiety and self steem issues... is it strange that i feel relived im not the only one experiencing this?

when this manga new chapter appears on your follow list, did your mood change suddenly, Like, normal (happy) to grim....
I sure did.....

I really hope that fat girl went and become friends again with the original bully girl.

If you notice, the fat girl thought it would be a compliment because earlier they used it as a compliment, but because she has issues with social cues, it was meant as an insult. She's perpetuating her own cycle of abuse in that she mimics what she sees from others in order to fit in, and if that mimicry fails, she stress-eats her way out of it. Ironically, that inability to pick up social cues also makes her redeeming, in that she doesn't want to just abandon Ichika, especially for Kanae.

I like how well this developed a character in only a few pages.

I know that feeling. It's like a "Oh! Oh. Oh...." Which is funny because I find this to be one of my favorite manga because of how realistically and well-written it is depicted in my opinion. @Damoon

Here's a theory fat girl is going to notice Kanae talking to those 3 in the van, then mention it somehow later and then the bully chick who was raped by them is going to put together the pieces and confront her sometime later, then it's going to spiral out of control with kanae blackmailing her.

@Tamerlane
Well, there's also (as I understand it) something about insults in Japan/Japanese of being purposely vague with your insults. Back handed compliments are pretty common. But, because her audience is also Japanese, I think they knew what she was doing. There's a lot of "fill in the blanks" with the Japanese language, as such I think they're pretty good at catching people's true intentions despite what words they use, you know?

But I do think what you're saying is true too. There is a lot of hypocrisy going on here, but I think Tomoko is just more aware of that hypocrisy than it is that she's oblivious to the social cues. This mean girl clique is very much about revolving punchingbags. Kanae was first, then Ichika, now it's just Tomoko's turn. They all participate in this circle with the belief that it'll just never be them who's on the receiving end, despite logic stating otherwise.

I... I don't like how real it is. I mean, I've never experienced being bullied, and the one time I harassed someone was to try and get them to bully me for some reason, and I don't think I have some sort of mental illness, but something about this just clicks.
Also, "ah, the duality of man"
