I can see where the author look for an inspiration on this chapter, there were many example of parents and children with this story in real life. Seeing it as a thematic story on a manga is surely an interesting one.

Interesting how the younger sister seems a lot more in the wrong here compared to the expanded story. I'm curious to see how it'll develop further.

wow i actually like a lot of aspects of this better than the expanded story, 2 things in particular

(1) the last bit about how her mother didn't "curse" both girls the same, but rather the expectations and oppression of the older one were that much higher
(2) the older sis is trying to not be like the mother in all the ways that doesn't matter (offering her the skincare product the mother said is a waste, telling her to dress more wildly) but she's actually the same in all the ways that do matter (envy, hypocritical)
