If you're actually at home, there's a dozen deadlier items you can pick and choose from before you have to resort to making that. While the chapter was obviously overblown (anyone trying to make a dust bomb with powdered sugar and an AA battery would end up looking really, really silly indeed), common household chemicals can be made into all sorts of potentially lethal concoctions.

Looks like I'm the only one bothered by Ayame's reaction when the bomb went off.
This isn't dynamite, so the explosion shouldn't cause a flash, meaning there's no reason to cover your eyes.
