Kimi wa 008 - Vol. 3 Ch. 18 - Inside the Heart

I can respect the honesty in telling why the interest in translating this dropped xD

@Abedeus

And it won't tone down not even a little bit in the last chapters.

It's not bad, just different compared to Kenichi (and I don't mean the softcore porn, this part is better here), though admittedly the series is still young. I'm just waiting to see if it's going to go absolutely crazy just like early Kenichi where the already unrealistic martial arts shit became straight up magic. I'm hoping something ridiculous like cyborgs and metal gears show up, though all this 'using normal everyday objects as weapons' shit makes that kind of unlikely. Still hopeful though.

I tried out Kenichi after seeing people comparing this and it, and honestly, I like this more. I couldn't tell you why, but this is just more entertaining to me personally. Totally understand slowing down the translation due to the lack in interest, though. You didn't even have to pick this up at all if you didn't want to.

that pose after the end was funny but boi releases arent too fast hey i was hoping for a lot of chapters like kenichi does

There's something to be said for the intrinsic competence of this main character, for sure. In this manga, Eito demonstrates not just guts but also critical reasoning far beyond his formal education, and while he's no advanced combatant, he also has a physical constitution above a normal person's as well, leading the viewers to see the "promise" he shows from the getgo.

In HSDK, Kenichi lacked basically every trait you'd want him to have except kindness. People remember him as having guts when it counted but in reality, he was originally even more cowardly than Eito is here, and *constantly* tried to run away from even training early on. Meanwhile, Eito sees this insane world and is reacting to it like a proper tsukkomi but hasn't seriously said "get me out of here" since the first few chapters.

The hook at the beginning of Kenichi was basically just the ridiculously broken Masters he trained under. And Miu's boobs. But, you know. Mostly the masters. Having read all of Kenichi, I wouldn't say I overall like this series "more" yet, but I do think it shows more promise. If this goes on for long enough, I look forward to what should be a much more natural evolution of Eito into a competent secret agent, contrasting with Kenichi's constant hellish nonsense training to try to push him far beyond the bounds of the below-average human he originally was.

I like the fact that it is painfully obvious that both of them like each other unlike in Kenichi where Miu was oblivious or outright ignored the fact that Kenichi had feelings for her.

Also I like this girl because she reminds me of Shigure who I honestly liked more than Miu.

Owl with bunny ears is GOAT, and yeah this series is ok, not good nor bad just that. I don't expect anyone to pick this up if you guys were to drop it. So yeah, thanks.

what the hell happened?

from a cold girl she just 360 into a "somehow bright not cheerful but going there maybe" girl.

Kenichi was a very good run. A great deal of the success was due to the great, comical, ridiculously strong and likeable masters. I miss those guys...

Edit: But... man, don't give up on this. We like your translations. 😘

Yeh, the problem with this series is that unlike Kenichi, you can't do a gradual ascent from "wimp" to "badass". It's not like they can make whatsisname protagonist fight bully-tier agents. And quite frankly espionage just doesn't have a lot of action to illustrate, especially done correctly.

Shame it’ll be slowing down. I like this series. I find it has a nice balance of fan service and action.
