Tropes and cliches exist because they worked and people start using it. However, it's not like using familiar tropes is a bad thing. Tropes can be likened to tools which could have different effects depends on how the author use it but this one is just so cliches and badly executed. Wanting to have friends isn't wrong, we all need friends but the way it is handled on this manga is just so meh.
