Fun fact: Due to a title card mistake, “Night of the Living Dead” immediately entered the public domain upon its release in 1968. The film’s commercial success led to dozens (hundreds even) of low-budget imitations whose creators were free to crib from the source material without paying licensing fees. This is the deluge of crappy zombie movies alluded to in this chapter.
